“The visit to East Africa is a continuation of the mission to build relations with African countries that started in 2017. Polish business will be promoted at meetings in Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania; “There are plans to sign nine bilateral agreements,” President Andrzej Duda said today just before his departure.
Today, President Andrzej Duda and First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda began their visit to East Africa. They visit Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania.
During today’s pre-departure briefing, President Duda emphasized that this is a continuation of “our international mission when it comes to building relations with African countries.” He added that this process was initiated by him in 2017 as part of his official visit to Ethiopia.
Promotion of Poland and our company
During his visit to East Africa, the President of the Republic of Poland, as part of the promotion of Poland and our business, will participate in business forums and visit places of Polish private investment, including the largest: a tin smelter in Rwanda.
As Andrzej Duda said, nine bilateral agreements will be signed during the visit.

Development aid for African countries and development cooperation
The President noted that the talks will also cover Polish development assistance to African countries, cooperation in the following sectors: agriculture, IT, ecology, environmental protection, fintech, taxes, police and military. He added that the latter also concerns the potential export of Polish weapons.
Political objectives
The political goal, as the president noted, is primarily to “bear witness to the situation in our part of Europe, to Russian aggression against Ukraine, and to explain the origins of the food crisis in Africa.” He emphasized that the talks will focus on Russian propaganda and disinformation, explaining that this country is “violating the order established after the Second World War.”
The visit program includes: bilateral talks with the presidents of Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania, Polish-Kenyan and Polish-Rwandan economic forums, a visit to the tin smelter in Kigali, the largest investment in Rwanda, and a meeting with representatives of circles that have ties with Poland.
