Tobiasz Bocheński guarantees that Warsaw will move forward and develop for its residents – PiS MP and former Minister of Culture Piotr Gliński told PAP, referring to the PiS candidate for the presidency of Warsaw.
PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński announced that Tobiasz Bocheński will attend PiS candidate for president of the capital Warsaw in the local elections to be held in April.
Bocheński’s experience
PiS MP Piotr Gliński admitted in an interview with PAP that he had known the name of the PiS candidate for a long time and had a very positive attitude towards this candidacy from the very beginning.
And the further into the forest, the more positively surprised I am. He is an incredibly hardworking man. Talented, young, energetic and at the same time with enormous experience, as he was a voivode twice
– said Gliński.
As he added: “This is a man who took on very important challenges and led great organizations such as the Voivodeship.”
He understands management, he is also theoretically prepared, because he has a doctorate in legal doctrines, and he increasingly surprises with his dynamism, ideas, efficiency and dedication.
– said the MP.
“Trzaskowski’s achievements
When asked what kind of campaign he expected in the capital, Gliński said that this was the campaign that Bocheński had announced.
I expect a substantive campaign, adapted to the specificities of the local government. Mr Bocheński rightly pointed out that Trzaskowski is not just a lazy person who is usually absent from the city, but that he travels all over the world; he has national ambitions and constantly tries to rely on what our opponents are riding on, that is, on bad emotions and European politics, and also refers to post-communism
– he assessed.
However, that is not where people’s problems need to be solved. After all, after several years of PO management, Warsaw is still a city where thousands of residents have no sewage system. I don’t know if the people living in Wilanów know that the basic life problems of their fellow residents have not been solved because sewerage is not available in many places in Warsaw.
– said Gliński.
Capital investments
The PiS politician also referred to the housing problems in the capital.
Apartment prices are simply outrageous because the policy is friendly to developers and unfriendly to residents. Why isn’t there a supply of public housing, like in Vienna, which would flood the market and prevent prices for developers from rising? Our previous government had special funds and subsidized the construction of municipal housing, and it had to be implemented. Trzaskowski was busy with something else
– said Gliński.
Basic investments for residents have not been implemented in Warsaw, Gliński said.
Where are the ring roads, bridges, underground parking garages, where is the renovated Congress Hall, where is the large sports hall that had to be built? Where is the concert hall that should have been built? This is all still in its infancy or not yet being implemented
– he mentioned.
Gliński also said that “the latest information from the Ministry of Culture shows that the ministry is sending letters to cultural institutions in Poland demanding the cessation of investments.”
This also applies to Warsaw. Therefore, in Warsaw we may not have the investment that we have prepared, with which the architectural competition, that is, the Polish Royal Opera, has already been completed. If this is not done, the costs will be enormous as fines will have to be paid
– he said.
Investments in museums that Warsaw and Poland need are also at risk
– added.
Ideological projects
An additional threat, Gliński assessed, are various ideological projects to close the city center.
To change a city that was shaped differently. Here people live in the city center, there is no ‘city center’ where only people work. The crazy things they want to do and do make the city congested and uninhabitable.
– he assessed.
Bocheński is a guarantee that Warsaw will move, that Warsaw will develop for its inhabitants, not for some ideological projects.
– summarized Gliński.
Tobiasz Bocheński was the Voivode of Mazovia from April 18, 2023 to December 13, 2023, and in the years 2019-2023 he was the Voivode of Łódź. From autumn 2015, he was assistant, advisor and from 2017 director of the Łódź Voivod office of Zbigniew Rau, who became Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2019.
Bocheński was born on December 15, 1987 in Łódź; is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Public Administration of the University of Lodz and an academic teacher. Since 2019, he is a doctor of law at the University of Lodz, researcher of political and legal doctrines. He is 35 years old.
The municipal elections will take place on Sunday, April 7. The second round is scheduled for April 21.
