What is the significance of President Andrzej Duda’s visit to Africa? An important voice on this issue appeared on the Internet.
Aleksander Olech from defense24.pl commented on the head of state’s visit to Africa. The analyst draws attention to the need for contact with the countries of this continent.
IMPORTANT: As the person who co-organized this visit, I would like to respond to the emerging criticism.
This is not an excellent visit. This is also not a breakthrough in our foreign policy. But this is a very good move. Numerous appointments, meetings and the presence itself are of great importance.
African partners want to talk to the MOST important person in the country. In this case it is the president. They do not pay as much attention (like France, Germany, the US) to our internal situation, but expect a high level of representation. We give it to them
– we are reading.
The president with his ministers
Olech also writes that ministers of the Polish government flew to Africa together with President Andrzej Duda.
Dozens of people from many ministries contributed to making this visit possible. Moreover, the president comes and is accompanied by some ministers. That’s why both camps play TOWARDS ONE GOAL for RP. I hope that both the Prime Minister and the Foreign Office will also visit the African continent in the coming months.
If the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Hungary go to Africa and look for options for themselves, we can and should do that even more.
Whether we like it or not, our presence in Africa was, is and will be. There are many examples, and these are just a few: we will not remove cemeteries from Tanzania, professors gave lectures in the DRC and engineers built pipelines in Libya. In addition, there is a Polish community and active missionaries in many African countries. The research is carried out by Polish scientists and companies are involved in investments. Finally, we want to sell guns and there are people who want to sell them
– argues the analyst.
Olech draws attention to the attempt to develop Polish foreign policy.
You may not like individuals organizing or participating in this visit. However, let us respect and appreciate efforts to develop Polish foreign policy.
There is a proverb that fits this perfectly: “to catch a zebra, you must first chase it.” I will also add that hunting is most effective in a pack (team). Good luck!
