“I believe Rafał Trzaskowski spends much less time in Warsaw than Tobiasz Bocheński. The current mayor of the capital is an absentee president. Tobiasz Bocheński will be a president who will be involved in solving the problems of Warsaw and its residents,” Paweł Lisiecki, mayor of Warsaw’s Praga-Północ district and former member of the Polish Parliament, told the portal wPolityce.pl .

wPolityce.pl: We already know the PiS candidate for the president of Warsaw. How does the mayor estimate the chances that Dr. Tobiasz Bochenski wins? What are the benefits of the candidate announced today?
Pawel Lisiecki: On the one hand, Tobiasz Bocheński is an experienced and well-educated person. He served, among other things, in the position of the Masovian Voivode. He also has a doctorate in law. At the same time, he is a young person who was not previously familiar with politics. This would mean new energy that could be used for the benefit of the capital Warsaw and the people of Warsaw.
I think that as Law and Justice, together with Mr. Tobiasz Bocheński, we will be able to present many interesting ideas, and we really have many. Moreover, Dr. Bocheński himself, as a voivode, is very keen to obtain money for Warsaw – I am talking about 3 billion PLN, which Warsaw can benefit from. Moreover, he is a substantive person, full of energy, well educated and someone for whom the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, will really have to use high heels to reach the level of Dr. Bochenski.
It seems that one of the “arguments” of the current mayor of the capital and his supporters could be the fact that Dr. Bocheński is not from Warsaw, but from Łódź. Patryk Jaki was similarly criticized in the previous local government campaign. Can we expect these types of attacks again?
The Platform’s campaign will look like this: scare people with Law and Justice. However, we will respond to it substantively. We will pay attention to the pain and problems of Warsaw and its people. We will point out that the current authorities in Warsaw have not solved the problems of the capital and its inhabitants. However, we have specific recipes, specific ideas and energy to change all this. I think this will be the axis around which this campaign will revolve.
Already today, during the convention, it was clear that the PiS candidate rightly pointed out the basic, down-to-earth problems of Warsaw residents, such as traffic jams or the problem of access to daycare centers.
We analyzed it and I think our candidate understands these issues perfectly. Moreover, I believe that Rafał Trzaskowski spends much less time in Warsaw than Tobiasz Bocheński. The current mayor of the capital is an absentee president. However, Tobiasz Bocheński will be a president who will be involved in solving the problems of Warsaw and its people, and not a big national or even pan-European policy like Rafał Trzaskowski. It will focus on the problems and needs of the capital and its inhabitants.
Thank you very much for the interview.
