We want as many insurgents as possible to be in Warsaw to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising; We invite all insurgents from all over the world, we will make them feel as good as possible, said Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski. The deputy head of the Outpost took the opportunity to attack PiS.
As many rebels as possible at the festivities
Speaking to journalists after the meeting with Warsaw insurgents at the Polish Army Museum, Trzaskowski referred to the issue of this year’s celebration of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising. At Friday’s conference, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that the government, and not just the city of Warsaw, would also be involved in organizing this year’s celebrations.
This is an extremely important anniversary for us. We invite all Warsaw insurgents from all over the world. I am very pleased that Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has declared full cooperation between the Ministry and the Polish Army – we have signed an appropriate declaration of intent. We will ensure that as many insurgents as possible can be in Warsaw, so that they feel as good as possible. From the beginning of my term of office, we have placed the insurgent as a human being at the center of our attention
– Trzaskowski said Friday.
For us, they are the determining factor for values, they teach future generations what patriotism, friendship and solidarity are
– added.
“The PiS government continued to talk about reparations…
In the context of the commemoration of the Warsaw Uprising, the president of the capital was also asked about attempts to obtain compensation from Germany for war losses caused by the Third Reich, including the idea that the German state, for example, should support the reconstruction of the Third Reich could finance. Saxon Palace in Warsaw.
The PiS government talked about reparations all the time and did nothing. This case is not closed
– stated Trzaskowski.
However, there are many more things that are important to us. Germany must draw conclusions from its policy towards Vladimir Putin in recent years, a policy that has not been particularly harsh. That is why today a major German commitment is needed when it comes to the defense of the whole of Europe and assistance to Ukraine
– noted Trzaskowski. He added that “symbolic gestures” are important, and Polish and German ministers will talk about such a gesture in the context of Warsaw.
Work on the new civil protection law
The Mayor of Warsaw was also asked about the announced work on the new Civil Protection Law and the participation of local authorities, including Warsaw, in the work on the project.
This is very important, I talked about it today with both the Prime Minister (Kosiniak-Kamysz) and the Minister (Deputy Head of the Ministry of National Defense Cezary) Tomczyk. We have been demanding this kind of action, a civil protection law, from the PiS government for many, many years – because our hands were largely tied. Of course, we as cities have drawn up our own plans, but that requires action
– said Trzaskowski.
Today, Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz announced the work on this law, and also announced that local authorities will be widely consulted. Of course, we are ready, we are ready to share our knowledge and experiences, and share what we have prepared ourselves
– stated Trzaskowski.
