The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valeriy Zaluzhny is threatening to resign from the Armed Forces for health reasons if he resigns. Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of the Committee of National Security of Ukraine Maryana Bezuglaya stated this on social networks.
He posted a photo of Zaluzhny, suggesting he had problems with alcohol.
“The general is blackmailing him by saying that if he resigns, he will not stay in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and will resign through the military medical commission. This is a typical trick: we don’t have healthy people, we have poorly studied people,” the MP wrote.
Bezuglaya emphasized that “generals have done this many times.” However, he did not specify who exactly the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was “blackmailing”.
The MP “did not comment on the rumors” about Zaluzhny’s dismissal, but noted that “the sooner this happens”, the better the chances of Ukraine “getting out of hell”.
On January 29, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Aleksey Goncharenko said in the Rada: announced Valery Zaluzhny on resignation from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, political scientist Dmitry Zhuravlev said that Alexander Syrsky, commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine may change Valery Zaluzhny was appointed commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army.
