“They anarchize the state, the law does not matter to them. The only thing that can stop them are people – including their voters – is how Law and Justice MP Joanna Borowiak assesses the state of affairs in Poland under Tusk in an interview with the wPolityce.pl portal.
wPolityce.pl: How is the MP’s health today? Let us not forget that during the dramatic events on TVP on December 20, 2023, you were seriously injured.
PIS MP JOANNA BOROWIAK: I underwent further tests as ordered by the doctor. It turned out that the hand and shoulder were more damaged than it seemed at first glance. I am undergoing specialist rehabilitation. The matter was reported to the prosecutor’s office, I also filed a motion to prosecute the perpetrator and was interrogated twice. I’m adding further evidence to the case.
Today we know that the attack on TVP was illegal. This is what the court ruled. How much does it matter?
It turned out that we were right when we defended Telewizja Polska. Undertaking parliamentary interventions and also performing tasks there. The legal status is obvious: it was an illegal, forced entry into an important public institution, it was illegal to switch off the television signal, it was an illegal takeover of offices and editorial offices. Unfortunately, Donald Tusk’s team, the December 13 Coalition, still does not want to accept this. They recognize that laws are not important to them, and that the law only applies “as they understand it.” They are working on it more and more.
What’s next?
I would very much like for the real public media to return as long as it is possible, for the rightful president, Mr. Michał Adamczyk, to be able to fulfill his duties, and for major journalists who have been deprived of their jobs to be allowed to return. And this is not just the wish of our politicians – let’s see how big the scale of the protests is across the country, including the big demonstration of Free Poles in Warsaw. Unfortunately, public media is gradually being degraded. Ratings dropped dramatically, huge losses were caused, viewer confidence was destroyed, and many beloved programs disappeared. Public media must return to their legitimate management – this is the only way out of this situation.
Will Tusk’s men, including Lieutenant Colonel Sienkiewicz, stop this powerful march? Now they want to take over the National Public Prosecutor’s Office, and then probably other institutions as well. the German media encourages them to even greater lawlessness. Will only illegal forces rule in Poland?
They anarchize the state, the law does not matter to them. The only thing that can stop them is the people – including their voters. If they really care about the rule of law, they will see to what extent it is being violated, what the court rulings are and to what extent these actions are contrary to the laws and the Constitution. People are starting to wake up and see things clearly. In my region I very often meet people and hear many voices of outrage about what is happening, including from PSL members and from people who voted for the Third Way and got Donald Tusk. They have a road roller that goes through Poland without looking at anything. Their voters are starting to get tired of this. This is not what they voted for and the December 13 Coalition will soon notice this.
MP Joanna Borowiak was one of the guests of the very interesting symposium “Faces of the Media”, organized on Saturday by the Academy of Media and Social Culture in Toruń
