“Thank you all very much for your prayers and your presence,” Maciej Wąsik said in his first interview after being released from custody.
Maciej Wąsik thanked everyone who supported him during his stay in prison.
I thank you all very much for your prayers and for being with me. Every day my beloved wife Roma stood in front of the prison and encouraged me. There were my parliamentary friends. Friends from Płońsk, from Ciechanów, from Płońsk, from Ostrołęka. There was Jan Krzysztof Kelus, which is a great honor for me. (…) Thanks to Mrs Zofia Romaszewska. To all my friends, Ernest Bejda, Artur Czapliński, Anita Czerwińska
– he said.
I prayed together with the viewers of Trwam television. Every evening we prayed the rosary. Today as I sat to pray the rosary, the door opened and a SW officer came and said, “You are being released.” It was a great work of prayer
– added.
Health
Maciej Wąsik assured that he felt good.
I feel very good. Of course, I have to carefully return to normal functioning. Even though I have a huge appetite, I feel like eating, so everything seems to be fine
– he said.
We have a few things to do. Things we have noticed by watching the mainstream media and listening to the statements of politicians of the current ruling party. We must deal with them and defend our good name. Some of them took advantage of the fact that we were in prison and could not defend ourselves and spat at us in a disgusting manner
– he said.
He added that he would thank Jarosław Kaczyński and President Andrzej Duda.
When asked about his attendance at the Sejm session, he said on Republika TV:
I stick to the fact that I am a Member of Parliament. The verdict was clear and was upheld by the Supreme Court. So it is my duty to represent my constituents in the Sejm.
