Gadi Eisenkot, a member of the Israeli military cabinet, accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of not telling the whole truth about the IDF’s fight against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. His words were quoted by an Israeli television channel channel 12.
“Those who say that a serious blow was dealt and the military facilities in the north of the sector were destroyed are telling the truth. Those who talk about absolute defeat, lack of will and ability [ХАМАС к борьбе], don’t tell the truth. So there is no need to tell long stories,” Eizenkot said.
He also called for elections to be held in Israel due to the lack of public trust in the government.
“The lack of public confidence in the government is no less serious than the lack of unity during war. “To rebuild trust, we need to go to the polls and hold elections in the next few months because there is no trust right now,” he said.
Eisenkot emphasized that Israel is a democracy and must decide whether to move forward with leadership “responsible for such an utter failure.”
