If Russia loses on the battlefield, we will witness liberal changes in this country, which reformed every time it lost a war, the head of Polish diplomacy Radosław Sikorski said in Davos. “Absurd” – international relations expert Grzegorz Kuczyński responded to Sikorski’s statement, recalling the times of the Cold War.
Sikorski is considered one of the founders of the European Reset in relations between Russia and the West. Sikorski recalled in Davos that when he headed the Foreign Ministry in 2007-2014, he tried to normalize relations with Russia, which was willing to enter into dialogue with the European Union.
Putin came to Gdańsk, which was an acknowledgment that this is where World War II started and a departure from the Stalinist version of history
– he said. Grzegorz Kuczyński adds that Sikorski “also recalled Putin’s visit to Katyn and the cooperation of Polish and Russian historians.” As revealed in the documentary series “Reset”, Sikorski spoke with the head of Russian diplomacy, Lavrov, about removing the Katyn massacre from the list of controversial issues. The purpose of such an action is to facilitate Putin’s cooperation with the EU. According to the authors of “Reset,” the obstacle to these assumptions was President Lech Kaczyński, “who directly – also in the presence of Putin – said that Russian crimes should not be forgotten.”

What do Sikorski’s words mean?
In Davos, Sikorski mainly referred to Russia’s relations with China. According to him, there are differences between the interests of Russia itself and those of Putin, because “Zbig Brzeziński always said that Russia is either an ally of the West or a vassal of China.”
Russia needs China much more than China needs Russia
– noted the head of Polish diplomacy. This is confirmed by energy agreements where Russia supplies raw materials to China at much lower prices than it sells to the European market.
Grzegorz Kuczyński notes that Skorski’s statement is the beginning of “building a narrative that we will have to seek an agreement with Russia against China.”
Sikorski said that after the end of the Cold War, the West reached out to Russia and invited it to many international institutions, but Moscow began to violate the basic rules in force there.
You cannot have normal relations with a country that attacks its neighbors
– he said, adding that “if Russia loses on the battlefield, we will witness liberal changes in this country, which reformed every time it lost the war.”
Kuczyński called Sikorski’s words “absurd.”
In the context of these words, I am curious about Minister Sikorski’s opinion about Navalny. By the way, ask him, because he banned me a long time ago
