Former head of the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mariusz Kaminski, who was arrested for allegedly abusing his office and went on hunger strike, was ordered to be force-fed in prison. On the air about this “polish television“said the country’s President Andrzej Duda.

“Today, I received information from the wife of Mr. Minister Mariusz Kaminski that it was decided to force-feed him by court order because his situation began to threaten his life and health. The court ordered that he be force-fed,” Duda said.

Former Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski and his deputy Maciej Wonsik were detained at the presidential palace in Warsaw in Duda’s absence. Kaminski and Wonsik are accused of abuse of power – 3.5 years ago by court decision the officials should have been sent to prison, but during the trial they managed to become members of the previously ruling Law and Justice party and deputies of the Sejm (Parliament).

After that, Andrzej Duda pardoned them, violating the order of this procedure, which prohibits pardoning people for whom the sentence has not entered into legal force. Duda’s decision was appealed, but no progress was made in the case as long as party members Kaminski and Wonsik remained in power.

Before that Law and Justice Party organized Anti-government protest in Warsaw.

The main reason for the action is the imprisonment of former Minister of Internal Affairs Mariusz Kamiński and his deputy Maciej Wonsik.
