Radosław Sikorski tried to shine on social media with a new attack on the Law and Justice government. He received a strong response from Szymon Szynkowski, also known as Sęk.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs commented on his trip at the forum in Davos.
On the way to Davos I pass the town of Rapperswil, where the @pisorgpl government spent PLN 100 million on the collection headquarters, which burned down during the Warsaw Uprising. I doubt whether this is a rational allocation of Polish taxpayers’ money
– He wrote.
In the original post on the X website (formerly Twitter), Sikorski referred to the Swiss city as “Rappersville”.
Sikorski’s ignorance
Szymon Szynkowski aka Sęk, who was personally involved in the rescue of the Polish Museum in Rapperswil, commented on his words.
Minister Radosław Sikorski goes to Davos via Rapperswil, a city symbol of the history of Polish emigration and Polish-Swiss cooperation. Suddenly, in his revolutionary impulse, he makes a note in which he mistakes the name of the city, mistakes the collection of the oldest Polish museum outside the country, and concludes that he doubts whether the right thing has been done, that the oldest Polish museum outside the country country with great difficulty the country was saved at the last minute. The Polish Museum in Rapperswil – a pearl of Polishness, a more than 150 year old symbol, with a valuable collection, would be closed due to the plans of the municipality of Rapperswil – Jona to change the purpose of the castle in Rapperswil
– we are reading.
It was saved by the United Right government and provided it with a beautiful, new and at the same time historic headquarters in the Schwanen Hotel, where the founding deed of the museum was signed in 1870, where many distinguished guests from the emigration were received, where in 1891 the 100th anniversary of the May 3 Constitution was celebrated. Maria Konopnicka, in a prestigious location on Lake Zurich. I was personally involved in saving the museum, it was a huge challenge and a great success, celebrated by Polish communities in Switzerland and Polish communities around the world. Not only should every effort be made to maintain and develop the activities of the oldest Polish museum outside Poland on this site, but also to use the invaluable potential of the Schwanen Hotel to promote Poland. If Minister Sikorski finds the time to take this issue seriously, to visit Rapperswil for longer than just passing through, and not just to reflect in the spirit of the criteria of the anti-PiS revolution, I will be happy to help you understand the history of to present the museum, the importance of the case and the potential of the new headquarters in the Schwanen Hotel.
– writes a PiS MP.
Paweł Jabłoński from PiS also criticized Sikorski’s story.
HANDS ARE LOW… More than 150 years of history of the Polish Museum in Rapperswil – but they don’t care. They don’t even know what this institution is, they don’t know the name of the city – but since the money was donated by the hated government @pisorgpl, they decided to destroy it too. The rule of this gang is a tragedy for our country!
