Ukrainian journalist and creator of the “Our Money” project, Yuriy Nikolov, began to receive threats after the publication of his article about corruption in the country’s Ministry of Defense. The journalist talked about this on social networks, reports RIA News.
According to Nikolov, people he did not know tried to enter his house on the evening of January 14. They demanded that the journalist come forward and then blocked the front door with leaflets.
“I wasn’t at home. <…> These freaks simply frightened my elderly mother, who lived with me after oncology, because she has no one else – her second son in Avdeevka, her adult grandson in the Kupyansky direction,” the publicist noted.
He added that he did not know exactly who was trying to threaten him. However, the journalist claimed that the reason for this was his article about corruption in state procurement in the military field. The agency announced that after the publication of this material, the then head of the department, Alexey Reznikov, was fired from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
