PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński said on Saturday that Attorney General Adam Bodnar should take immediate action to pardon Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik. Then even the slower pardon mode chosen by the president could proceed very quickly, he added.
On Saturday, Law and Justice organized a conference entitled “Whose community? Dangers associated with trends of change in the European Union.

Drastic circumstances
We are dealing with a dangerous situation today. Two of our colleagues who have been illegally convicted and placed in two prisons under extremely drastic conditions are on hunger strike
– said Kaczyński.
This is a situation that threatens the life of one of them. That is why we must take additional measures and apply appropriate pressure. How we are going to do that is another question, but I would like the public to know that truly terrible things are happening here
– he assessed.
He added that “Attorney General Adam Bodnar is not taking any action.”
Other types of actions could be taken that would end this case very quickly, but they are not being taken either. Therefore, this can all end tragically
– he said.
According to Kaczyński, “Prosecutor Bodnar should take immediate action, and then in this mode, slower than the one that could be used, it could be done very quickly.”
But it is a matter of will and decency. There is no decency and therefore no will
– he assessed.
Kaczyński said that “once again we are dealing with abuse in the Public Prosecution Service – completely scandalous decisions by prosecutor Bodnar.”
Completely contrary to what he did in 2016 by submitting appropriate requests to the Constitutional Court and then fully agreeing with the tribunal’s ruling
– added.
It was still a tribunal chaired by Prof. Rzepliński
– he remembered.
The head of the PiS club, Mariusz Błaszczak, said that “the fact of participating in the ‘Protest of the Free Poles’ was also an expression of solidarity.”
We are dealing with revenge against those who fought corruption. Corruption that also reached the highest levels of government. And this is what those who formed the government on December 13 do not like. They want to be allowed to commit abuses and therefore take revenge on police officers who fought corruption.
– added.
Shocking police action
In March 2015, Wąsik and Kamiński were unlawfully sentenced by the District Court to 3 years in prison and a 10-year ban on holding positions, including: for exceeding its powers and illegal operational activities of the CBA in the “land scandal”. The court classified the most serious crimes they were accused of as incitement to corruption. On November 16, 2015, the president pardoned the convicts.
On Tuesday, police arrested Kamiński and Wąsik – PiS politicians and former heads of the CBA, who were staying in the presidential palace at the time. Both were convicted on December 20 last year. a final sentence of two years in prison in connection with the so-called land scandal.
President Andrzej Duda noted that the procedure would be conducted in “presidential mode” when he informed about the start of the pardon proceedings against Kamiński and Wąsik. The President’s Chancellery explained that “the Attorney General shall submit the files to the President of the Republic of Poland or initiate ex officio pardon procedures in each case when the President so decides.”
