We usually look at the 23-day attack on public media by Donald Tusk and Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz through the prism of what political gangsters are doing to Telewizja Polska. But what happens at a local level is just as important. There it is sometimes even better to see the real background of the lawlessness organized by the former secret service officer.
There is said to be one (illegal) curator at the regional stations of Polish radio. There are already a few. And none of them are random characters.
Liquidators like yeast
Sienkiewicz apparently decided there wasn’t enough chaos and two days ago he announced the “appointment” (illegally) of receivers for three radio companies. He did it as professionally as any of his previous moves – posting an announcement on social media.
This decision is also bizarre because the same Sienkiewicz announced a week earlier that he had “appointed” one curator for all 17 local companies of Polish Radio, and that was Paweł Kusak.
Now, according to the alternative reality in which the minister lives, without dismissing the previous curator, lawyer Robert Murawski has been appointed curator of Radio Szczecin, of Radio Łódź – Jacek Grudzień (director of the Łódź branch of TVP in 2012-2016). ), and from Radio Katowice – Ewelina Kosałka -Passia.

The latter has been working at Radio Katowice for twenty years. From May 2022, her positions included: as program director and was responsible for, among other things, the station’s business and media strategies. Should it be clear that the same person who focused on developing the station last month will today focus on its liquidation? Was it enough that the coalition took power on December 13, so that the journalist, who had been associated with the editorial staff for twenty years, eagerly started destroying the radio?
Of course, media companies cannot be liquidated; the law forbids this. But Tusk’s minions have already proven that for them the impossible does not exist. That is why preparations are being made in Silesia for… the privatization of the local radio station.
As we reported on January 10, the authorities of Katowice and the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis want to buy Polskie Radio Katowice. The mayor of the city and the head of GZM have already sent a letter about this to the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Someone probably longs for a cheap but efficient machine that he would like to use as a propaganda mouthpiece.

A man with important clients
It is even more interesting in Szczecin. Sienkiewicz’s illegal nominations indicate the real goal of destroying public media. Was the idea that they would fall into the hands of various forces gathered around the Civic Platform?
Such questions arise in connection with the “liquidator” Robert Murawski.
He is a young lawyer from Szczecin, whose office is located in a historic residential house in the center of Szczecin. On his website, the lawyer proudly points out that “this is the oldest law firm in Szczecin.” A bit of an exaggeration, because in 1974, when Legal Team No. 5 began operating there, Murawski had not yet been born. But Roman Łyczywek and his son Włodzimierz worked in this team.
The latter is Murawski’s mentor and patron, under whose supervision he acted in numerous cases as dean of the District Bar Association.
Łyczywek has a rich political career. In the 1990s he was a councilor of Szczecin and the Szczecin City Council (before the administrative reform that abolished 49 voivodeships and before regulatory changes made it impossible to serve as a councilor at various levels of local government). He was active in the Freedom Union, from which he joined the Civic Platform. He even represented Tusk’s party in the Senate, which he joined in 2005. Five years later he left the Platform and after another four years he joined Jarosław Gowin’s Polska Raz, from where he ran – unsuccessfully – for the European Parliament. .
However, before coming under Łyczywek’s tutelage, Murawski acquired his first professional skills under the patronage of Patryk Zbroja. Thanks to him, at the time he was involved in, among other things: serving local government units dominated by PO. Zbroja is a lawyer popular in the West Pomeranian community, also for his private sporting passion: sailing. He participates (successfully) in many competitions. He even published a book guide “Safe purchase of a yacht”. He also tried his hand at politics: in 2015 he ran in the Senate elections as a candidate for Nowoczesna. Without success. The mandate was subsequently won by Tomasz Grodzki.
Today, Łyczywek and Murawski work closely together. The latter proudly writes about it on the website of his law firm.
As you can see, the office of the “liquidator” Murawski also cooperates with Rafał Wiechecki, a person from the closest circle of Roman Giertych in the first decade of the 21st century. In 2006, Wiechecki became the youngest minister in Poland’s post-war history, taking over the portfolio of head of the Ministry of Maritime Economy in the government of Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz.
What do the patrons of Łyczywek and Wiechecki have in common?
Both are representatives of Stanisław Gawłowski, a Civic Platform senator from Koszalin, accused of corruption in the so-called melioration scandal (his wife is accused of money laundering in this case). Although his trial is nearing its end, the verdict is not expected for a few months.
Mr. Wiechecki served not only Gawłowski, but also the Marshal of the Western Pomeranian Voivodeship, Olgierd Geblewicz. He lost the last case in which he was represented. Geblewicz has filed a private complaint against the editor-in-chief of Radio Szczecin, Tomasz Duklanowski. The marshal did not like that the journalist wrote that Krzysztof F., sentenced to 5 years in prison for pedophilia and possession of a significant amount of drugs, worked in the marshal’s office as a representative for addictions. The court terminated the proceedings during the first hearing.
Now Radio Szczecin – led by a curator who is friends with Wiechecki – has no right to harm the marshal. Damage – read: disclosure of inconvenient facts about the activities of the office he heads.
Wiechecki also represents two suspects in the Polnord money siphoning scandal. In this case, the Public Prosecution Service tried to file charges against Roman Giertych (another – recently – Platform parliamentarian who appears in our story), but the lawyer then suddenly fell ill and fainted.
It turns out that the world of the West Pomeranian bar is surprisingly small. Lieutenant Colonel Sienkiewicz could have chosen very differently from several thousand lawyers whom he would like to employ (illegally) as curator of Radio Szczecin. And the choice was made by someone who is well established in the area around the Civic Platform.
What a coincidence!
