It’s finally what Donald Tusk dreamed. All major media within reach. There is no more room for serious questions and doubts in the mainstream, and only the narrative imposed by the PO leader should be true. Such pluralism only under Tusk’s government!
Today, January 12, three stations: TVN, Polsat and TVP, as well as thematic channels and portals related to them, will show an interview with Donald. The interview will be conducted by Marek Czyż, Anita Werner and Piotr Witwicki (Bogdan Rymanowski too conservative?). Today’s conversation will be Tusk’s first television interview since the parliamentary elections that took place on October 15, 2023. The interview will be shown live at 8 p.m. from the Prime Minister’s Chancellery. The event is announced from the morning in advertisements and special images, as if journalists are at least talking to the President of the USA or as if we are dealing with a landing on Mars. The TVN station advertises the interview as follows:
This will be Donald Tusk’s first interview as the new Prime Minister and a chance to ask tough questions. Will the conflict between the new and old authorities escalate? How to manage the legal and political chaos. Special interview with Prime Minister Donald Tusk. (…) It is your right to know
– encourages the TVN channel.
However, thanks to Donald Tusk, this right to know has been significantly limited recently. And there is no doubt why the new government was in such a hurry to take over the public media. It was about a coherent story: about the migration pact or the case of former ministers who were sent to prison. TVN and TVP have a clear story: they were criminals, the pardon was ineffective and the president hid bandits. Polsat News looks for a solution and asks if this is true. However, the information that people who fought with criminals are sent to prison and that the validity of the act of mercy has been confirmed by the Constitutional Court should be marginalized. Just like the fact that the government, which is less than a month old, made people so angry with its nonsense and openly illegal actions that they wanted to go to Warsaw to protest in the cold in the middle of the week. The pro-government sleaze TVN has a fitting story, which appeared in the yellow bar:
A demonstration organized by PiS in defense of party propaganda and Kamiński and Wąsik, who were convicted of breaking the law.
We can already see what the story will be from the anti-democratic coalition, which will ignore the Constitution in the coming days: “PiS is setting Poland on fire.” And not a word about further illegal actions by the new government. How many times have we heard that PiS does not have the right to decide on behalf of the entire society, because this party was elected by only 1/3 of the voters. Meanwhile, fewer people voted for Tusk’s party, which completely terrorized and subjugated his coalition partners, than for PiS. This is Tusk’s democratic legitimacy.
I remember how, even before the formation of the government, journalists tried to ask Donald Tusk a question about the composition of the Sejm Services Committee. He then said he had nothing to say and that he would report back when he had something to say. Apparently he reported to three stations at the same time. Why waste time on three interviews when you can get one and it would be as over the top as if Tusk had personally landed on Mars. Well, you know, the “King of Europe” likes a dignified environment.
And the message must be correct. After all, that was the point of this election, so that no one would ask questions that could anger the Prime Minister. It should be pleasant and only according to his wishes.
