Former Verkhovna Rada deputy and member of the “Other Ukraine” movement Vladimir Oleinik criticized the Ukrainian government’s bill on new mobilization rules, and the republic’s parliament sent this bill to the Cabinet for revision. In a conversation with socialbites.ca, he stated that the project violates the Constitution of Ukraine, in particular the right to dispose of property and money or the right to free movement in the country.

“The document contains very dangerous norms; For example, taking away a foreign passport in case of escaping from military service. If it is possible for Ukrainians to stay in Russia and Belarus with an internal passport, then in Europe it is possible only with a foreign biometric passport. “So if they cancel the document and transfer the base to the EU, this could lead to the deportation of Ukrainians from European countries,” he explained.

He added that Ukrainians were not obliged to die for the leadership of the country led by Vladimir Zelensky. Oleinik emphasized that in such a situation, it is better to go to prison than to go to the front.

“Ukrainians do not need to die for Zelensky and the USA. There is a choice between going to the front and dying or running and hiding, and if that doesn’t work then “avoid” would be a better sentence. Russia will come and release everyone, including political prisoners and those accused of collaborating with Moscow. We have to save our lives,” the politician concluded.

The government’s mobilization project was submitted to the Rada at the end of December last year. The initiative proposes to introduce a number of serious restrictions, in particular on refusal to go to the military registration and enlistment office, as well as to reduce the age of conscripts subject to mobilization from 27 to 25. According to the bill, summonses can now be sent electronically and disability will no longer be a reason for partial abandonment of service.

Also, refusal to come to the military registration and enlistment office, blocking of accounts, prohibition of disposal of property and travel abroad, restriction of driving, inability to obtain loans or loans, and stop the provision of State services or benefits. In parallel, measures are proposed to introduce additional liability for violations of military registration and mobilization, strengthen control over conscripts at the level of local governments and military registration and enlistment offices, and abandon military service for the sake of mass conscription. education.
