US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to the Middle East. He wrote this on his page social network X (formerly Twitter).

At the meeting, Blinken reaffirmed the Jewish state’s right to self-defense following the October 7 Hamas attacks.

“I also emphasized the importance of preventing harm to civilians, protecting civilian infrastructure, and ensuring the distribution of humanitarian aid throughout Gaza,” the US Secretary of State wrote.

Blinken before this statedDuring his visit to Israel, he said he planned to convey messages from other Middle Eastern leaders to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and military cabinet representatives regarding Gaza’s post-war governance structure.

“I have just arrived from some countries in the region (Turkey, Greece, Jordan, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia) and I want to be able to share with the President some of what I heard from these leaders. We will also meet with the Prime Minister and the Cabinet later,” the US Secretary of State said.

Previously Israel called for an end to the war with Hamas.
