MPs from several German parties once again called on German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to supply Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine, and representatives of the last two parties noted the necessity of striking Russia. The publication reports that Rheinische Post.

As Sarah Nanni, the Green Party’s defense policy representative in the Bundestag, noted, the supply of these missiles to Kiev is “long overdue.”

“The most effective defense against Russian air strikes would be to attack targets inside Russia and in the occupied regions of Eastern Ukraine, where Russia launches its attacks,” he said.

In his view, such attacks would be the best way to protect Ukraine’s civilian population and would supposedly comply with international law.

A member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the opposition party of the German parliament, and a member of the international relations committee had a similar opinion.

“Taurus missiles are important because this system is very effective and allows you to eliminate supply and command structures far behind the front lines,” he said.

Kiesewetter believes that long-range missiles will specifically help Ukraine destroy the Black Sea Fleet and the Crimean Bridge, which will force the Russian Federation to “abandon Crimea”.

Free Democratic Party (FDP) member Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Bundestag, also spoke in favor of transferring Taurus missiles to Kiev. According to him, Germany should supply Ukraine with cruise missiles to cut the “supply lines” of the Russian Federation.

Before that, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, statedRefusing military aid to Ukraine will not lead to peace.

Previously Zelensky saidIt prevents Ukraine from transferring hostilities to the territory of the Russian Federation.
