The guests of the program “Salon Dziennikarski” discussed the attack on the public media. The participants of the program were unanimous in their opinion that the actions of the current government in this matter are scandalous.
I have no doubt that those who protest are right, and I am one of those who do so – in the best way possible. Sometimes I am at a protest in Poznań, sometimes we write different types of positions in the SDP with one common denominator. What is happening in the media after December 13 is more and more lawlessness, bending the law to push through one, the only convenient option, which is the appropriation of the public media.
– she said Jolanta Hajdaszdirector of the SDP Press Freedom Monitoring Center.
Today we can see it not only in prognostic examples, but also in real terms, if we look at the creations that someone broadcasts under the banner of TVP Info. These are clearly the same guests as on TVN24, the same topics. (…) A very large number of journalists are excluded from professional work at all. Absolutely scandalous times that call for protests
– she added.
However, as a society we have experienced a major technological change, which means that we have become accustomed to the fact that the Internet and social media, regardless of their quality, provide us with wide access to information, we have a wide range of choices and we can make our own form an opinion.
– he said in turn Marek Grabowski, chairman of the Mama and Papa Foundation. However, he admitted that neo-TVP reporting omits topics that are important to many Poles.
““Neo-TVP does not address issues that are very important to a large part of Polish society.”
Neo-TVP does not discuss topics that are very important for a large part of Polish society, such as the issue of sovereignty, migration, treaty issues or certain plans related to the worldview offensive that the new government is preparing.
– emphasized the chairman of the Mom and Dad Foundation.
There are no loopholes in the current Broadcasting Act that allow government officials to influence the media. (…) The point here is to take over the media with a simple wave of the bear’s paw, so that they serve the government
– said the lawyer Marek Markiewicz.
If we look at the situation for thirty years, the dominance of the left-liberal forces occupied most of that time. (…) During this time we are dealing with a certain monopoly of people in Woronicza, the best symbol of which is Sławomir Zieliński, which started in communist times and which continues today
– he said Piotr Semkacolumnist of the weekly magazine “Do Rzeczy”
Very often there is an argument (…) that what the point is, having public television was some kind of appropriation, and now, there you have it, Telewizja Republika. That is not the same, because TVP was a medium that made documentaries and series, for example. (…) TV Republika will not produce a series with many episodes, nor will it produce many shows or talk shows. Let us not be misled into thinking that there is balance because there is TV Republika
– he pointed out.
The publicist also noted that Telewizja Republika’s message did not arouse interest or criticism in left-liberal circles as long as it was a niche television. Now that it has gained a very high viewership, it is suddenly the subject of attacks.
Actions will start soon under the title “We call on cable TV owners not to subscribe to the Republika because it is disgusting (…). It is not that anyone will give the Republic a day off now
– he said.
During martial law, something was done that was a criminal move by the communists: some journalists were expelled, while others were prohibited from contacting the expelled, and this was strictly enforced. (…) Now I’m talking to a journalist from a major commercial television and he says: “Yes, but they are propaganda officers there.” He talks about his friends. (…) So something terrible has happened, because the institutions can be rebuilt, but the journalistic community has been destroyed again
– said lawyer Marek Markiewicz.
