The Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decided to remove MP Maryana Bezuglaya from the post of deputy chairman of this committee. This was reported by the TV channel “We are Ukraine” based on a statement by local legislator Vadim Ivchenko.
In November 2023, Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Kucherenko proposed removing Maryana Bezuglaya from her post. The reason for this was the MP’s criticism of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valeriy Zaluzhny.
“The Defense and Intelligence Committee has decided to recall Maryana Bezugla from her position as deputy chair of the committee,” the document states.
Later, the legislator commented on the situation by publishing a corresponding post on his page on the social network Facebook (the owner of the Meta company is known as an extremist in Russia and is banned). He emphasized that such decisions can only be made according to the results of the voting in the general hall of the parliament.
November 27, Verkhovna Rada deputy Maryana Bezuglaya from the Servant of the People party requested punish the commander-in-chief of the country’s army, Valery Zaluzhny, for the failure of the summer counteroffensive. According to him, other Ukrainian generals, along with the military leader, should also take responsibility for what happened.
Formerly in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the name Valery Zaluzhny was “offended”.
