Former Prime Minister and former SLD leader Leszek Miller has become one of the most ardent followers of new-old Prime Minister Donald Tusk since joining the European Parliament through joint lists initiated by the Civic Coalition. This time the politician, who was associated with the Polish United Workers’ Party from the late 1960s until the dissolution of the Communist Party, decided to attack President Andrzej Duda in an arbitrary manner. “If we were to apply the method used until recently on public television to Prime Minister Tusk, it would be: ‘Nur für PiS’,” MEP Miller concluded in his long contribution on the X platform.
“I thought it was artificial intelligence.”
Politicians and supporters of the coalition admire Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s New Year’s speech on December 13 and attack the head of state because of President Andrzej Duda’s speech. Politicians from the parties that make up the new majority are not only hurt by the fact that the president pointed out that the way the new government has taken over the public media leaves much to be desired in terms of law enforcement, but also by the fact that Andrzej Duda showed a portrait of the late during his speech. President Lech Kaczynski.
MEP Leszek Miller decided to add his two cents. As a member of the ZMS, and from 1969 until its dissolution – PZPR, it is deeply insulting that President Andrzej Duda had the audacity to accuse the current authorities of violating the constitution or attacking freedom of expression.
At first I thought that artificial intelligence had successfully attacked the presidential palace, that someone skilled in using it had created an artificial Andrzej Duda. However, I didn’t like the scenery around the president. Instead of an eagle, President Lech Kaczyński was hung on the wall, and the previous Polish emblem – a white eagle on a red field with a golden crown, golden beak and golden claws – was placed at a height below the president’s waist on the lectern nailed. .
– wrote the former Prime Minister and former SLD leader on Platform X.
Moreover, I was almost sure that someone had also written him a New Year’s message, and he delivered it alone – and even after pressing “Enter”. Someone used AI to put words into his mouth that weren’t his. After all, our real president couldn’t fool himself like that… Unfortunately, I was wrong!
– Why? After all, for politicians and supporters of the current government, President Duda has always been “Adrian”, “the pen”, and many of them even tried to question the fairness of his re-election. After all, they have always considered the president “stupid,” no matter what he does or where he appears. We always managed to find a photo with a not so favorable face or a language error, so what’s the problem?
The contrast between what Duda said and what Prime Minister Tusk said the day before was so great that it became clear to me that it could not be AI. Artificial, because artificial, but intelligence nonetheless. It was the original, not some Chinese knockoff. He threatened, warned, announced in advance what he did not agree to and occasionally thundered. Accusing the new government of acting outside the law like a whistling drunk driver was untrue
– Miller continues.
I will never agree to violate the Constitution, shouted someone on television, who has had Kaczyński wrapped the Constitution around his finger for eight years. He signed everything the president needed to change Poland from a democratic constitutional state to Pisalandia
– thunders the politician who spent most of his life serving the Soviet colony temporarily installed in Poland, which had nothing to do with a democratic constitutional state.
The verification committee is the worst?
The MEP then decided to reflect on President Duda’s actions over the past eight years, while revealing what really hurt him the most in all of this.
The list of his “achievements” in this area is long: pardoning Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik against the law, refusing to swear in the judicial judges of the Constitutional Court, double swearing before the Constitutional Tribunal, signing the unconstitutional law on the neo-democratic constitutional state. KRS, which made the National Council for the Judiciary the legal staff department of PiS, shortening the term of the first president of the Supreme Court and replacing Prof., who was disliked by PiS. Gersdorf is a popular professor, who agrees with the snout law aimed at judicial independence, or even the president’s latest achievement: signing of the law on the commission to investigate Russian influence, which directly and bluntly targeted PiS’s biggest enemy and opponent of former Prime Minister Morawiecki in the parliamentary elections
– and wasn’t it the rival candidate who, based on the testimony of a man who also said absurd things about money in a Biedronka shopping bag, demanded an investigation into Russian influence on Polish politics? Hadn’t this rival candidate and his allies been engaged in a reset policy towards Russia for years, ignoring and ridiculing the warnings of PiS and President Lech Kaczyński, and when Putin’s regime committed large-scale aggression against Ukraine they suddenly become the first ‘hawks in the world’? Russia” and accused them of being pro-Russian? …the PiS government at the time?
However, one must understand Leszek Miller’s anger against the verification committee. After all, until recently he happily gave interviews to Sputnik, including: Leonid Sviridov took part in meetings of the Valdai Club and argued that Polish concerns about the “alleged threat from Russia are pointless.”
Here is only a rough portrait of the first constitutionalist of the Republic of Poland. And a fighter for pluralism of views and civic responsibility. Let us not forget the latest incarnation of Andrzej Duda – defender of freedom of expression and media independence only for PiS. If the method used until recently on public television was applied to Prime Minister Tusk, then: “Nur für PiS”
– Miller sums it up.
Well, for several reasons described above, MEP Leszek Miller is one of the last people whose opinion about the president’s actions regarding freedom of speech and the constitution has any credibility.
