Kazimierz Michał Ujazdowski, PSL senator, spoke in Poranek Siódma9, among other things: about the attack on the public media. In a bizarre way, the senator tried to justify the illegal actions of Donald Tusk’s government.
Ujazdowski said that whether Minister Sienkiewicz chooses the right legal form for changes in public media depends on how public media will present themselves in a few months.
I would wait a few more months before making the final assessment of whether this legal form was correct and rational, because in fact the final answer […] depends on what the public media will look like in a few months
– he said Kazimierz Michał Ujazdowski.
If TVP and Polskie Radio respect the principles of pluralism and impartiality and do not become an instrument for moral disqualification of the opposition, as they did just a few weeks ago, we will see the restoration of the basic functions of the public media and this will be absolutely crucial for the assessment of this entire project, a process that is truly radical
– added.
Despite everything, Ujazdowski admitted that he takes seriously the comments about the actions of Donald Tusk’s coalition towards the public media, which are expressed by circles not related to PiS.
Jarosław Kaczyński would launch a radical and aggressive protest against any kind of change in the public media (…). I assume that any form of transformation will be met with radical protest, but these reservations and conclusions of some non-governmental organizations must be taken into account.
– he said.
Ujazdowski’s allegations against the president
Why didn’t Donald Tusk’s coalition try to implement changes in the public media in a normal way, through legal means? Ujazdowski transferred responsibility in this matter to the president.
One element of this situation is that on the part of the ruling camp, I am talking primarily about President Andrzej Duda, there was not an ounce of reflection on what was happening on public television, nor any sign that would indicate that the president wants to stop this disgusting, terrible propaganda that took place just a few weeks ago and that there are no signs from the presidential palace that it is ready to fix the media in an evolutionary way, no
– he said.
We have not faced a situation where a serious person on the other side tried to limit this terrible propaganda and propose a compromise solution. Absolutely not, that wasn’t the case. […] I am talking primarily about Mr. President, who is protesting against these changes today
– added
As you can see, Kazimierz Michał Ujazdowski actually directly admits that it is not particularly important for him whether Minister Sienkiewicz’s current actions towards the public media are legal or not. The only important thing is what this media will look like now. Moreover, Ujazdowski is trying to shift the blame to the president, while Donald Tusk’s coalition should actually enter into a conversation with the head of state about possible changes in the public media, and not the other way around.
