“If [posłowie PiS Mariusz Kamiński i Maciej Wąsik] goes to prison, the president will say all over the world that we have political prisoners in Poland,” said the head of the president’s office, Marcin Mastalerek, in the WP program “Tłit”.
““The president will hold his outstretched hand.”
Mastalerek said in an interview in the WP program “Tłit” that President Andrzej Duda will deliver the New Year’s message on December 31 at 8 p.m.
The president will talk about the past year and plans for the new year. Naturally, he will talk about the issue of public media, because it is an issue that has heated public opinion, but he will mainly focus on the main challenge for 2024, namely ensuring the security of Poles.
– he pointed out.
When asked whether there would be political discussions, he replied:
Of course there will be plenty.
We are dealing with a new society situation and the President, as far as I know, will reach out to the governing coalition to work together on the most important issues.
– emphasized the presidential minister.
““The pardon is valid”
Mastalerek also referred to the case of PiS MPs: Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik.
The President maintains that the pardon is valid and that the court has no right to review it. If they go to prison, the president will say all over the world that we have political prisoners in Poland
– he said.
Referring to the issue of public media, the Presidential Minister stated:
I’m surprised that after the change of government, people who wore T-shirts with the words ‘Constitution’ on them laugh at the Constitution and are in favor of breaking it.
The President is open to conversations and systemic solutions regarding public media. Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said the same, so I hope there is only a transition period now
– Mast rack added.
