The head of EU diplomacy fears the European Parliament elections. According to him, the victory of the right, the war in Ukraine and the conflict in the Middle East could threaten the survival of the Union. Out of fear of the unknown, Europeans will vote with their hormones.

Attention, attention, the terrible year 2024 is coming – warns the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Josep Borrell. Donald Trump could win the US presidential elections in November, and the right wing could win the European Parliament elections in June. The EU diplomat gave a speech at the annual conference of the French magazine “Le Grand Continent”, where he shared his opinions, especially concerns about the future of the Union.
His analyzes and thoughts have no substantive value, but they do provide insight into the state of mind of European rulers. In other words, we can discover what’s going on in their heads. The world, and therefore we, are influenced not only by objective reality, but also by the perception of it. Even Borrell knows this, as the audience in Aosta, Italy, saw firsthand.
Voting with hormones
Well, according to an EU diplomat, the right could win the June elections because its stupid electorate will vote under the influence of fear. The media shows a world full of threats – the war in Ukraine, the war in the Middle East, so people are afraid, and when they are afraid they instinctively seek safety and therefore turn to those who can provide it. That means the right wing, so they foolishly choose that. Those who vote for the right will not make an intellectual or moral choice, but, according to the Spanish socialist, a physiological choice.
I’m afraid of fear. I fear that Europeans will vote out of fear. It has been scientifically proven that the unknown and uncertainty releases the fear hormone, which calls on the body to seek safety.
So we have scientifically proven that if the right wing wins, it will be because of some irrational emotions, and not because the current rulers of the EU have brought the country to the brink of disaster. According to the Eurocrat, a right-wing victory in Europe would be even worse than Donald Trump winning the presidential elections again. This hormonal fear is said to be caused by illegal immigration and increasingly poor living conditions. What’s even worse is that instead of calming and soothing the fearful people, the media informs about the threats.
We are attacked by a media world full of threats from which we learn about everyday crimes of evil or war, which trigger fear-driven hormonal activity.
And then what? Good:
Parties can play on people’s fears, offer poor solutions to real problems and gain the support of European society.
In the meantime, Borel, among others, can present transparent analysis of the situation. In other words: a deep intellectual insight, not just a medicine for hormonal disorders. Those who are a scared idiot vote for the right, and those who are intellectuals guided by rational analysis choose Borrell and Europe’s greatest ruler, Ursula von der Leyen.
The Ultimate Fate of the Union
Borrell also spoke about the war in Ukraine and the threat Russia poses to Europe. At least it’s good enough that he realizes it, but there were also some absurd, even grotesque or completely false statements. It depends on intentions and reasons. It is not known whether Borrell said that only EU membership can provide Ukraine with security because he is simply stupid, or because he wants to deceive and deceive Kiev like the Germans.
Becoming a member of the EU is the greatest security guarantee we can offer Ukraine.
The Eurocrat says this in a situation where the EU cannot provide Ukraine with the promised ammunition, and the aid package, drawn up after more than two years of war, has been blocked by Hungary. Everyone suspects that Orban is doing this dirty work on behalf of Berlin.
Perhaps Borrell, like Von der Leyen, believes that EU membership is not a matter of choice that countries face, but of their fate. This German woman’s belief in inevitability and historical destiny has strange connotations. The Spaniard, who is considered an extremely inept diplomat/Eurocrat even by the very pro-EU “Politico”, may only be repeating the pompous statements he hears in Brussels and Berlin. According to Borrell, Putin’s Russia threatens not only Ukraine, but also democracy in Europe. These comments resemble childish cries that Ukraine is not fighting so much for its freedom and independence, but for accession to the EU. Sort of like the Warsaw insurgents fighting for LGBT or something like that.
In addition to hormonal choices and the war in Ukraine, the conflict in the Middle East also hangs over Europe like a sword of Damocles. This mixture of organic fear among stupid Europeans and armed clashes poses an existential threat to the Union. It is not clear how the fighting in Gaza relates to the functioning of the EU itself (we ignore global dependencies because they are obvious), but that does not matter. An EU diplomat can say whatever he wants.
The fact that Borrell said that the solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict must be imposed from outside – by the Arab world, the United States and Europe (the EU) is irrelevant, because he is a man of importance in the world and deprived of authority. It’s just a puppet of the EU. If these words came from the mouth of a serious diplomat, they could be the subject of discussion and analysis, and Israel would probably react with outrage, but no one cares what His Incompetence, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs Business, says. . Especially because it was accompanied by extremely stupid statements that Hamas is an ‘idea’, ie an ideological and political movement, and not a terrorist organization, and should therefore be fought with ideas and not with weapons.
In terms of content, Borrell’s speech was infantile, banal and sometimes pathetic. However, we paid attention to it because it reflects well the mentality of the rulers of Europe – their pride, sense of superiority, belief in their uniqueness – those who are not with us are scared fools, but it also shows that they are those who are afraid. They realize they can lose. That this rotten, corrupt structure they have so eagerly put together could simply collapse.
Speaking about Ukraine and especially Gaza, Borrell seemed to try to justify the expected defeat, saying that if Europe’s current rulers lose, it will not be because they have brought the country to the brink of collapse, but because Europeans are afraid that their hormones are raging, and in Ukraine there are wars going on in the Middle East.
And Borrell and the rulers of Europe may indeed fear an uprising by their subjects. In many countries, the European Parliament elections in June could be won by right-wing or non-skeptical groups.
The right will start as the favorite in the Netherlands: the anti-establishment Party for Freedom, the New Social Contract and the Peasant Citizen Movement. In Sweden, the second strongest group are the outspokenly anti-European Swedish Democrats, who support the right-wing minority government: the Moderate Coalition Party, the Christian Democrats and the Liberals. Finland is governed by a combination of the National Coalition Party and the anti-EU, national Finns Party. In the June elections, the Social Democrats only took third place.
In France, Marine Le Pen’s anti-EU National Rally is leading the polls, and Elizabeth Borne’s minority cabinet, backed by Macron, is still in power. The right wing rules in Italy: the Italian Brothers, Forza Italia, founded by Berlusconi, and Matteo Salvini’s anti-EU League. In Spain, the incompetence of the right wing, which won the July elections, means that a minority cabinet of socialists and communists can govern. Portugal faces early national elections as António Costa’s socialist government fell in November due to a major corruption scandal. The Prime Minister himself is involved in the bribery scandal.
Support for the AfD is systematically growing in Germany. The anti-immigration alternative for Germany, which is opposed by the establishment, is already the second most popular party on the Elbe and Rhine. In Poland, PiS remains the favorite, and in Hungary Fides remains the favorite.
Current polls and political arrangements in individual countries determine nothing, but superficial calculations indicate that the position of the EU’s eternal rulers – the People’s Party alliance, led by Germany’s Weber and the Socialists – may be in danger. Of course, Weber’s People’s Party for power is willing to even engage with the communists – as is the PO, but the European right wing, the conservatives, seem to be as close as ever to leading the EU, so Borrell, Michels, von der Leyen actually have reasons to be afraid.
