Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Jewish state will not stop fighting Hamas in the Gaza Strip because the hostages can only be released through military pressure. Kan announced this while speaking in parliament.
He said that Israel would not have been able to save more than 100 captives without military pressure, and that the remaining hostages could not have been rescued before the clashes continued.
“Therefore, not a single thing will be done; we will not stop fighting,” the Israeli Prime Minister said.
The situation in the Middle East escalated further on October 7, when thousands of armed Hamas supporters entered Israel from the Gaza Strip. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country was at war.
The aim of Israel’s intervention operation was to repel the attack, release more than 200 hostages, including foreigners, and destroy Hamas. In order to achieve this goal, Israel launched major rocket attacks on the Gaza Strip from the first day of the operation. At the same time, the Israeli National Security Council decided to stop the supply of water, food, goods, electricity and fuel to the sector.
On October 27, Israel announced the “expansion” of its ground operation in Gaza. On November 5, as part of the ground operation, Israeli forces surrounded Gaza city and cut off the city’s supply connection. On 5 December, the IDF began the third part of its ground operation in the Gaza Strip, laying siege to the city of Khan Younis in the south of the strip.
Previously Netanyahu spoke of the Israeli army’s desire “not to stop.”
