The Republic of South Africa (RSA) suggested that Kiev invite the Russian Federation to meetings where Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s “peace formula” will be discussed. South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor stated this in an interview with the SABC.
The Minister noted that his country participates in such meetings.
“At the last meeting, South Africa suggested to Ukraine that perhaps it was time to invite Russia to these meetings, so that we could start taking steps towards a more formal discussion of the negotiations,” the diplomat said.
According to him, the Ukrainian side has not yet responded to this offer.
Before that, Alexey Polishchuk, director of the second department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the CIS countries statedIt is stated that Zelensky’s statements that the “peace formula” is supported by nearly 150 countries are lies.
Zelensky in November 2022 introduced “peace formula” consisting of ten items. Their demands included the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory, the release of all prisoners and deported citizens, compliance with the UN Charter, measures against ecocide, and more.
