On Tuesday evening, the Sejm adopted a scandalous resolution on public media. 244 MPs voted in favour, 84 were against and 16 abstained.
Previously, MPs did not pass the motion to reject this resolution with a comparable number of votes. More than 100 PiS MPs did not participate in the votes.
This resolution, which is the subject of the work of the Supreme Chamber, should be called “on the introduction of lawlessness, chaos and a complete lack of media control over the activities of the government of Donald Tusk”.
– said PiS MP Krzysztof Szczucki during the parliamentary debate.

An outrageous resolution
The draft resolution was tabled on Tuesday morning by a group of MPs from KO, Polski 2050-TD, Lewica and PSL-TD. The resolution states, among other things, that the Sejm calls on the Ministry of Finance, represented by the ownership body of the public radio and television companies and PAP, to take corrective measures. The Sejm also promised to immediately begin legislative work to ensure the permanent restoration of the state of affairs in accordance with the Constitution.
The justification for the resolution stated that during the previous two terms of the Sejm, “the public radio and television broadcasters and the Polish Press Agency fully fulfilled their mission and role, defined by law, and the social need for access to reliable, impartial information lost. , and this state of affairs continues to this day.”
They have become exclusively party media that perform propaganda tasks in an exceptionally clear manner for the government and the commonly understood power camp, while openly and consistently attacking the opposition and all opponents of the government, thus openly participating and engaging in the political fight against one side of the scene: politics
