Egypt’s current leader, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, won the general elections held on December 10-12 and will become the country’s president again in the next six years. The official results of the presidential elections were announced by the Egyptian National Election Commission in Cairo. This was reported by TASS.

Hazem Badawi, head of the national election commission, said that in total, 89.6 percent of voters in Egypt and abroad voted for the incumbent president.

Vote Finished December 12 at 21:00 local time or 22:00 Moscow time. It was noted that voting centers were overcrowded due to high participation in the elections.

Although the voting will not be held officially on the fourth day, it was noted that “due to density, some local commissions may work until the last voter with the decision of their presidents.”

On December 10, ballot boxes opened for the presidential election in Egypt.
