A monitoring group was established in the Federation Council to monitor attempts to interfere in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation. In this respect RIA News said Andrei Klimov, chairman of the Federation Council’s commission for the protection of state sovereignty.

He explained that the expert group started its work the day after the decision to announce the election date (December 9) was taken.

“The monitoring group will continuously monitor within the framework of our powers and the powers of our commission until the election results are summarized,” Klimov said.
