Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba expressed confidence that Ukraine’s EU accession process will not take decades. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced this live on the 1+1 TV channel.

“The European Union will not repeat the mistake of allowing negotiations to drag on for decades,” Kuleba said.

According to him, after Ukraine started negotiations for EU membership, the only thing left for Kiev was to “negotiate and ratify the accession agreement”. Kuleba noted that no country had ever moved from EU candidate status to the stage of starting negotiations to join the bloc within a year and a half.
