US Secretary of State Antony Blinken congratulated Radosław Sikorski on his takeover as head of the Department of State and expressed his strong commitment to developing the US-Poland partnership based on common history and values, said State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.
As his spokesperson wrote in a statement, Blinken expressed “a strong commitment to advancing the U.S.-Poland partnership based on a shared history and transatlantic values.”
Secretary Blinken also appreciated Poland’s continued assistance to Ukraine and its people, continued cooperation in defense and civilian nuclear energy, and commitment to the NATO alliance.

In an earlier statement released by Poland’s Foreign Ministry, he said Blinken “expressed hope for a direct meeting with Minister Sikorski in Washington early next year.”
