Over the past few months, 25 of the 84 voters who voted for Donald Trump in the 2020 US presidential election have faced criminal investigation. Despite this background, many are refusing to vote for the politician if he reaches the final of the 2024 presidential race, according to reports washington post.

According to the publication, the criminal cases against these people are mainly related to forgery, giving false testimony and presenting false documents. For the case to be concluded positively, 10 of the 25 people agreed not to vote in any election in which Trump participated. Another 13 people are suspected of being part of the plot but have not yet been charged.

WP explains that the voter investigations are related to the “Trump voter fraud conspiracy” in 2020, in which Republicans and their supporters demanded a review of vote results in swing states due to alleged hundreds of thousands of fraudulent ballots.

Republican Party representatives interviewed by the publication said the increase in the number of criminal cases could scare away potential Trump voters in states where Trump was previously treated well.
