Anna Zalewska, PiS MEP, spoke on Radio ZET about renewable energy in Poland. She specifically pointed to Donald Tusk’s coalition’s narrative that PiS has halted the development of renewable energy sources. She also criticized the changes to the wind farm law proposed by KO and Polski 2050 MPs.
A state that is still in opposition and has a total majority coalition is lying. First of all, nothing is blocked. I would like to remind you that in 2015 we had 7 gigawatts of renewable energy, and in 2023 we had 27 gigawatts. The climate package for 2020, where we should have 15%, has been fulfilled. We had 16.1% renewable energy. Renewable energy. In addition, 10 gigawatts are under construction. That is why we are ready to have at least 40% by 2030. from renewable energy sources
– she noted Anna Zalewska.
When asked by host Andrzej Stankiewicz whether she believed that legal changes regarding wind farms were not necessary, she replied:
Absolutely not, because first of all we need transmission networks, because we have before us – I hope you don’t destroy these – plans for nuclear power and offshore wind turbines. This negates this lie.
“The wind farm bill is an absolute scandal.
Later in her statement, the MEP referred to the wind farm law
However, the wind farm law itself is an absolute scandal. I led 1.2 million citizens, more than 400 different types of associations, who said, “Don’t touch our houses, because they have no value.” And they actually have no value, they can’t be sold if the wind farm…
– she said, her statement was interrupted by the host who intervened that PiS “actually cut off the possibility of installing solar photovoltaics” in Poland
That is not true. With 1.35 million consumers, we rank second after Germany in the EU when it comes to solar photovoltaics, and third when it comes to wind turbines. The numbers don’t lie
– emphasized Anna Zalewska in response to the words of the presenter.
