Without money to deliver our Together programme, he will not join the government. However, we will approach the work of the new cabinet with kindness, Adrian Zandberg, co-chair of the Razem party, told PAP. He ruled out support for the government of Mateusz Morawiecki.
In an interview with PAP, Zandberg was asked which government the Razem party would support in the coming week, whether it would be the cabinet of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki or the candidate for Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who is supported by KO, PSL, Polska 2050 and Nowa Lewica.
PiS had eight years to solve the housing crisis, deliver decent budget increases and eliminate unwanted jobs. Instead, he tightened anti-abortion laws, attacked minorities and ultimately led to the withdrawal of European funds, which cost Poland dearly. That is why Morawiecki certainly cannot count on Razem’s votes. On October 15, the majority of Poles voted to send PiS to the opposition benches. This choice must be respected
– he said.
As Zandberg emphasized: “the new government must release the European funds. This is his main task.”
If this is not done quickly, some of the money will be lost. The normalization of relations with the EU is a matter of great urgency. That is why Razem called for a change of government at the earliest possible date and will consistently vote for a vote of confidence in the new cabinet.
– he declared.
Unfortunately, during the program negotiations it was not possible to agree with the PO and the Third Way on 1 percent of GDP for housing or on increasing health expenditure to 8 percent of GDP. Without money to deliver our Together programme, he will not join the government. However, we will approach the work of the new cabinet in a friendly manner and consistently seek in Parliament the issues that all opposition parties talked about during the election campaign.
Zandberg said.
Morawiecki’s new government
At the end of November, President Andrzej Duda swore in the new government of Mateusz Morawiecki, formed after parliamentary elections in the so-called first constitutional step. On Monday, December 11, the Prime Minister will present a statement to the Sejm with a motion to grant the government a vote of confidence. If he does not get it – and the PiS club has 191 MPs, which does not provide a majority – the Sejm will take over the initiative on the election of the prime minister and the government.
The majority, 248 MPs, is in the hands of the coalition of KO, Third Way and Left; his candidate for prime minister is Donald Tusk.
On Monday at 4:30 p.m., parliamentarians will elect the prime minister in the second constitutional step. Then a debate will take place, and at 20 – votes on the election of the Prime Minister.
On Tuesday, December 12 at 9 a.m., the new Prime Minister will present the action program and the composition of the government, together with a proposal for the election of the Council of Ministers. According to the schedule, the vote will take place at 3 p.m.
The Sejm elects the Prime Minister and the members of the Council of Ministers nominated by him by an absolute majority of votes in the presence of at least half of the legal number of deputies.
