We leave our party ID cards and sign for four years of hard work – told PAP the head of the left club, Krzysztof Gawkowski, who took part in PO leader Donald Tusk’s meeting with candidates for future ministers in his office on Friday.
What did Tusk declare?
On Friday morning there was a meeting between Donald Tusk – the candidate of KO, Third Way and New Left for prime minister – with candidates for ministers in his cabinet. Tusk told journalists it was a “working meeting with candidates for the future cabinet.”
Krzysztof Gawkowski, who was deputy prime minister in Tusk’s government and is responsible for the ministry of digitalization, told PAP that “Prime Minister Donald Tusk met with candidates for ministers in his government and made a clear statement.”
We have to build trust, we leave our party cards and work for Poland
– emphasized the politician.
This is a good sign that this will be a common team, a team of the future, and we sign up to work hard for four years.
– added.
The conversation about the future and the government took place in the four-year concept, that everyone should be prepared for a long march, but also for dynamic decisions, and not be afraid to take them, because the Poles are waiting for them
– Gawkowski admitted.
At the end of November, President Andrzej Duda swore in the new government of Mateusz Morawiecki, formed after parliamentary elections in the so-called first constitutional step. On Monday, December 11, the Prime Minister will present a statement to the Sejm with a motion to grant the government a vote of confidence. If he does not get it – and the PiS club has 191 MPs, which does not provide a majority – the Sejm will take over the initiative on the election of the prime minister and the government.
The majority, 248 MPs, is in the hands of the coalition of KO, Third Way and Left; his candidate for prime minister is Donald Tusk.
On Monday at 4:30 p.m., MPs will elect the prime minister in the second constitutional step. Then a debate will take place, and at 20 – votes on the election of the Prime Minister.
On Tuesday, December 12 at 9 a.m., the new Prime Minister will present the action program and the composition of the government, together with a proposal for the election of the Council of Ministers. According to the schedule, the vote will take place at 3 p.m.
The Sejm elects the Prime Minister and the members of the Council of Ministers nominated by him by an absolute majority of votes in the presence of at least half of the legal number of deputies.
