Admiral Rob Bauer, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, will discuss strengthening cooperation with this country, which has neutral status, during his visit to Switzerland. This was reported by TASS referring to the Swiss government.
Bauer will meet with Minister of Defense, Social Protection and Sports Viola Amherd and Chief of General Staff Thomas Süsli. According to the material notes, the NATO representative will also visit the Radiological and Chemical-Bacteriological Analysis Laboratory in Spiez.
The message continues: “During the visit, Rob Bauer will meet with Viola Amherd to discuss developments in the security situation and ways to intensify cooperation in terms of security policy.”
Bauer will discuss the situation in Ukraine and its consequences for Europe and the North Atlantic Alliance with Thomas Süsli.
In addition, the parties will also touch upon the issue of cooperation between Switzerland and NATO within the framework of the Partnership for Peace program, which “directly concerns the Swiss army”.
