On December 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting of the Council for the Promotion of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) via video conference on the occasion of International Human Rights Day. This was reported by TASS.

At the meeting, council members are expected to talk about the results of the HRC’s work this year. They will also exchange views with Putin on “a wide range of issues”, particularly discussing issues related to the military operation in Ukraine, education, migration and non-profit organisations.

Some subjects will be mandatory, while others will be chosen by HRC members.

Human Rights Day is celebrated all over the world on December 10 every year. On this day in 1948, the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Human Rights Day was celebrated for the first time in 1950.
