Michał Karnowski drew attention to the actions of the parliamentary majority, the consequences of which may be felt by the Orlen group. “This comparison is not favorable for Poland,” said a columnist from the weekly magazine “Sieci” in the program “Gość Wiadomości”.
The first topic Michał Karnowski referred to was the issue of the Sejm dismissing members of the Commission for investigating Russian influence.
During the committee’s conference and in the report it presented (…) there is not a single emotionally charged word, not a single politically motivated word. These are details and facts. This is an agreement with the FSB, this has been a collaboration with the FSB since 2010. The contract was signed in 2013. Incomplete, crooked, leaky, blind, somewhat conscious, monitoring people who have been named as those who should no longer hold public office
– he said.
The Commission acted under pressure when it had been announced for some time that its work would be interrupted and it did not succumb to emotions. And these opponents are giving in. That’s too bad. (…) However, the public has learned a lot about an important aspect of her activities and I think they feel a great loss. Because it was an opportunity to calmly clarify certain issues and make recommendations to the public authorities. It’s not a verdict, it’s not a condemnation
– added.
When asked about the plan to create investigative committees, Karnowski recalled the efforts involved in this work and, earlier, the creation of such a committee.
I don’t know if it’s inexperience or a conscious attempt to distract public opinion. I have the impression that I hear the hiss of smoke flares that are supposed to create a smoke screen. For what? Maybe to push through the wind farm law, to introduce a law that allows (…) I don’t know if everyone realizes what they were trying to do. This would be the supposedly good law that Szymon Hołownia talked about, allowing foreign companies to expropriate private property to build a wind farm nearby. Or a gigantic photovoltaic farm. We are approaching the level of a country where the rule of law no longer exists and the well-being of citizens is no longer protected. We have a nice show, smiles, popcorn. Some people may think that it brings some freshness, but on the other hand, these are very serious phenomena that indicate that lobbying is coming back, that the interests of Poles are being traded again.
– he said.
Attack on Orlen
Michał Karnowski also raised the alarm about the Sejm’s actions that could affect Orlen.
For example, the issue of electricity prices. This is written on the knee. This is an attempt at political revenge. Someone says: we don’t like Orlen, we didn’t like President Obajtek, so we will finish this company. A bill will be issued by the Sejm that will de facto condemn Orlen to annihilation. Orlen’s shares drop immediately. This is already having consequences. Whose Stocks Are Rising? German companies that produce wind turbines. This comparison is not favorable for Poland
– said the journalist from wPolityce.pl.
