Answering journalists’ questions via video link at the Berlin Foreign Policy Forum conference, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that she needed the support of the European Union before the presidential elections to be held in 2024. This was reported by TASS.
“Our country’s citizens need to make progress in EU integration negotiations” <…> It is difficult to find support for democracy when the economic situation in the country is not completely good. Our enemies will take advantage of this,” Sandu shared.
He also added that Moldovan products should have access to the European market.
Before that, Sandu had announced plans to participate in the presidential elections in Moldova in 2024.
