American officials’ financial support to Ukraine is now at a critical stage. John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator for the White House National Security Council, noted this during a regular briefing. TASS.
In his view, Washington no longer has the flexibility to finance Kiev that it had before. In this context, the United States began allocating aid packages to Ukraine with a much smaller increase in the amount of money sent.
“This is a critical moment,” Kirby said.
He also noted that the American government is currently awaiting a decision from the US Congress on the allocation of additional budgetary funds. This includes continued support for Kiev.
“We desperately need the additional funding the president has requested. [США Джо Байден]and I would like to remind you <…>The White House representative added that “the amount of additional funding was determined by our Ukrainian and Israeli partners.”
Finally, he stated that the US administration “does not pull numbers out of thin air”. Kirby stated that Washington takes into account the requests of foreign partners when making appropriate decisions.
