“In addition to the well-known and well-described threat of aggressive Russia, this is a problem [centralizacja UE – aja] This is currently the most important challenge for Poland’s future as a sovereign state. It is worth being aware of this,” writes Paweł Jabłoński, deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Platform He gave examples of submissions from editors: Paweł Wroński (“Gazeta Wyborcza”) and Patryk Michalski (Wirtualna Polska).
For at least several months, Law and Justice has been warning against the plans of the Brussels bureaucracy, which wants to change the EU treaties, which in practice would deprive the member states of a significant part of their powers and strengthen the power of the largest countries. and strongest, especially Germany. Opponents of changing the treaties point out that the 2021 coalition agreement of the government of Olaf Scholz includes a dangerous provision, which in fact aims at the federalization of the European Union.
Until recently, representatives of the new majority in the Polish parliament were largely silent on this issue. Just like the left-liberal media. But that is a thing of the past. Just a few days after the elections in which Law and Justice, although it obtained the highest result, did not obtain a majority allowing it to govern independently, the editor-in-chief of the Onet.pl portal, Bartosz Węglarczyk, argued: “The United States of Europe is a need.” A little later, the amendment of the treaties was defended by former minister, economist and publicist Waldemar Kuczyński.
“Nothing happens!”
The Deputy Head of Polish Diplomacy, Paweł Jabłoński, drew attention to the arguments used by proponents of EU federalization/centralization on Platform X.
Proponents of centralization in the EU use different types of arguments. Often contradictory – because they are addressed to different recipients – but always with one common goal: to stop the opposition to the change of treaties that is dangerous for Poland. Lie to some, shame others, convince others it’s good for them, and surprise those who fail.
– he wrote and then listed these arguments. The minister judges them as false and divides them into “5 main categories”:
1.@pisorgpl lies! There is no treaty change – nothing happens! Possibly slightly adjusted: Don’t worry, nothing is happening YET, it’s just the beginning stages, some loose discussions…
– this argument, in slightly modified form, was heard in yesterday’s conversation between KO Secretary General Marcin Kierwiński and Radio Three.
2. Don’t worry, there’s a lot going on – but IT DEFINITELY WON’T WORK, there won’t be a majority for it. 3. Yes, this is actually happening, treaties will be changed – but this is VERY GOOD, the changes are NECESSARY, otherwise the European Union will be paralyzed and collapse! Anyone who resists and does not understand is retarded. Anti-European. Pro-Russian
– Jabłoński continued.
4. And in general the same thing happened during the PiS government (e.g. KPO, Ff55) – the proposed treaty changes are nothing new. So it doesn’t matter much. 5. Finally: it is actually much better if Brussels decides everything for us – PROFESSIONALS and EXPERTS rule there, not like in our country
– wrote the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Nowadays that is no longer possible.”
As he subsequently noted, until recently, or rather until the presentation of the resolution on changes to the EU treaties by the Minister of European Affairs Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk, MP Krzysztof Szczucki and Deputy Minister Paweł Jabłoński, the politicians of the groups that sought a new government remained silent on the entire issue.
Nowadays this is no longer possible (in Poland – because in other EU countries this is still the main strategy)
– Paweł Jabłoński commented.
Today and in the coming days, I will address these arguments in more detail – presenting the facts, what could happen in the coming months – and what we plan to do to stop this threat. I encourage you to follow, discuss and ask questions about this issue
– added.
Apart from the well-known and well-described threat from aggressive Russia, this issue is currently the most important challenge to Poland’s future as a sovereign state. It’s worth being aware of this
– he concluded.

Examples of statements by proponents of federalization
In the next contribution, the Deputy Minister included two examples: a contribution from Wirtualna Polska journalist Patryk Michalski, illustrating story No. 1, and a tweet from Paweł Wroński from Gazeta Wyborcza, which fits into story No. 5.
The first examples. @patrykmichalski is story no. 1: PiS lies, nothing happens, there is no change in the treaties. @PawelWronskigw is number 5: There is a change in the treaties – and that is very good! I don’t like this Prime Minister, so I prefer that the decisions are made for us in Brussels.
