A woman has accused New York City Mayor Eric Adams of sexual assault that occurred in 1993. TV channel reports this ABC News Regarding the victim’s case.

The woman filed a complaint under New York’s historical sexual assault law. The document names Adams, the NYPD and two unidentified individuals as defendants.

The statement stated that Adams was a police captain at the time of the alleged incident. According to the woman, who is also a city employee, in 1993 the mayor caused “physical, psychological and other injuries as a result of criminal sexual conduct.”

A state law passed in May 2022 allows alleged victims of sex crimes whose statute of limitations has expired to file civil lawsuits.

“The mayor does not know who this person is. Even if they have met, he does not remember. However, he would never do anything to cause physical harm to another person and categorically denies such allegations,” he said.

In November, US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents captured Adams has cell phones and an iPad. The mayor is suspected of receiving illegal donations during his election campaign, including from Turkish officials.
