At one point during the program “Kropka nad i” (TVN24), the topic of reimbursement for in vitro treatment was discussed. At one point, left-wing MP Krzysztof Gawkowski asked a completely bizarre question to Marcin Horała, Deputy Minister of Finance and Regional Policy.
I need to familiarize myself with the form of a specific action [o refundacji in vitro – przyp red.]. I have one reservation, of an ethical nature. Do the in vitro procedures create the so-called surplus embryos? That is, are new humans being artificially bred, which are then put in the freezer and – I’m sorry, these are very bold words, but this is the reality of this sensitive issue – then thrown away and thrown away? If this wasn’t part of the in vitro procedure, I wouldn’t have any problem with it
– he said Marcin Horala on TVN24.
Every human being has an equal, inherent dignity as a human person – including the in vitro born children kept as embryos in the freezer. And that doesn’t suit me
– added.
Gawkowski’s absurd question
Vice President of the New Left Krzysztof Gawkowski he responded in a bizarre manner to the State Secretary’s statement.
When I heard about freezing embryos, I wanted to ask: Minister, how many sperm cells have you killed in your life?
– asked Krzysztof Gawkowski.
I do not know what you’re talking about
– replied Horała.
Did you kill sperm or not?
– Gawkowski asked.
I didn’t kill any sperm. What nonsense are you talking about?
— responded the Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy.
You talk about embryos, but what you are actually saying is that people cannot have the right to have children. It’s a scandal, sad and terrible
– said Gawkowski.
After the program, Marcin Horała referred to the altercation mentioned on the X platform.
A quick lesson in introduction to human biology and ethics for left-wing MPs who have apparently killed many brain cells in their lives:
1. A sperm is a cell from a man’s body, just as an egg cell is a cell from a woman’s body.
2. Their combination creates a new, separate human being, for example with its own unique DNA.
3. Every human being has his or her own inherent dignity, whether he or she is created naturally or as a result of an in vitro procedure
— Horała wrote on the X platform.
