“We were not invited to talks on the division of parliamentary committees,” said the deputy head of the PiS club, Marek Suski. He accused KO politicians of lying that such talks had ended. According to the PiS MP, his club should have twelve committee heads, and their smaller number will mean a ‘neo-democracy’.
Marcin Kierwiński, Secretary General of the Civic Platform, announced that talks between the clubs on the distribution of chairmen of parliamentary committees have ended.
Everything is already closed. Everything has been clarified, so tomorrow we are ready to go… 12, because this is the schedule (of the Sejm), elect committees and elect the presidiums of these committees
– he inquired.
It is logical that the ruling coalition will have a majority in the presidencies of most committees
– admitted the KO MP.
Heads of committees
The head of the KO club, Borys Budka, announced that PiS can count on the heads of 6-7 committees.
I would like to remind you that during the last term, if I am not mistaken, Law and Justice chaired eighteen committees, and the Citizens Coalition chaired, if I am not mistaken, five committees. I think they will have more leadership on the committees than the Civic Coalition had last season
– noted the MP.
Marek Suski commented on the KO leaders’ statement.
No conversations have even started with me, so to say they have ended is complete nonsense. There may have been some conversations, but not with us
– emphasized the MP.
At the end of the term, the opposition had ten committee chairs, so perhaps Mr Budka would look at the committee compositions, as they had 61 seats in the presidiums plus a place on the European Union committee.
– Suski emphasized. As he added, KO had six chairmen, while the Left and PSL had two chairmen each.
Suski emphasized that no one from PO called him.
When they say the talks are over, they’re lying, as always
– added.
When asked how many committee heads PiS has, since twelve are not equal.
As long as it stays like this, it will be so much, because the majority may not respect the parities.” “We are outside parity 12, but maybe it will become a neo-democracy
– added the PiS-MP.
