TVN’s “Fakty” unofficially announced the names of new ministers in the supposedly ready government of Donald Tusk. One of the ministries will be transferred to Radosław Sikorski, who did not participate in the parliamentary elections and has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2019. However, when it comes to the position that Sikorski should take, TVN made a “blunder”: viewers could learn that the politician would be in charge of the Ministry of “Foreign Affairs” (probably it was the Ministry of Foreign Affairs). .
Which ministry should Sikorski lead?
Radosław Sikorski served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in Donald Tusk’s government for seven years. He lost his position after the filming of the “Sowa i Friends” restaurant was revealed, and in September 2014 he became chairman of the Sejm, a position he held until June 2015. He later retired from active politics until 2019, when he participated in the elections for the European Parliament, he won the mandate.
It has long been speculated that Sikorski would again become Foreign Minister in the new government, which will most likely be led by Donald Tusk (if current Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki fails to build the Coalition of Polish Affairs, which made he announced at a press conference last Friday). Politicians from the parties that form the new parliamentary majority tell journalists that the future government is already ready and that the ministers have already been approved by Donald Tusk. However, no personal information is officially provided.
TVN presented an unofficial list of ministers in “Fakty”. The channel’s viewers could learn that Izabela Leszczyna would be appointed Minister of Health. The left wants the Ministry of National Education to be separated from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The left-wing candidate for the Minister of Digital Affairs is Krzysztof Gawkowski, while the group nominates Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk for the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy.
Szymon Hołownia is fighting for representatives in the Ministry of Climate and Environment and Regional Development. The first resort would be given to Paulina Hennig-Kloska, the second to Michał Kobosko. The People’s Party would get the ministry of infrastructure, agriculture and economy.
According to TVN’s unofficial findings, former ombudsman Adam Bodnar would become Minister of Justice. Andrzej Domański will become the head of the Ministry of Finance, and Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz will become the new Minister of Culture and National Heritage. MAP would go to Borys Budka, MSWiA – to Marcin Kierwiński. What position can Radosław Sikorski take on according to TVN? Is this about the Ministry of Foreign Affairs? Perhaps so, even though the channel described the ministry as the ‘Ministry of Foreign Affairs’.

Symbol or error? What if the error is Freudian?
TVN’s failure caused numerous reactions. The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Paweł Jabłoński, spoke on Platform
Interesting – and symbolic (if that’s not a mistake). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has existed in our history, at a time when Poland was not yet an independent state and when our independence was questioned. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was established in October 1918 by the Council of Regency. The name change to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – which is still used today – took place between January and February 1919. If anyone is planning to restore the name @MSZ_RP from the time when Poland was not yet an independent state. .. very worrying signal, especially in light of the proposals for EU treaty changes. Symbols in politics may not be the most important thing, but trying to change them sometimes says a lot about the intentions of the people behind them.
Yesterday Fakty probably made a Freudian mistake when he presented Tusk’s potential government. While it can be a very important ministry overall…
Sikorski – Minister of Foreign Affairs. Probably mainly Russian
