Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee Yuri Shvytkin rejected the possibility that the conflict in Ukraine would continue for decades. In conversation with “Lenta.Ru“He said that Moscow should not follow the path of freezing the conflict and commented on the words of Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Ukrainian OP, that Kiev is unlikely to resist Moscow in the long term.

From the parliamentarian’s point of view, Russia should not adapt to Ukraine’s interests.

“I don’t think he is [конфликт] It may take decades. At the same time, we should not try to freeze this conflict. Here the Armed Forces of Ukraine must strictly comply with the demands put forward by our country…” said Shvytkin.

He emphasized that the West must realize the meaninglessness of ongoing military operations on behalf of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The MP noted that they should force the Kiev authorities to negotiate with Moscow in full compliance with Russia’s demands.

“And, of course, Western countries must come to appropriate conclusions to fulfill the demands that our country put forward even before the start of this conflict to ensure the security of Europe and its security in general,” Shvytkin said.

Before that, Mikhail Podolyak, advisor to the head of office of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky I suspectedUkraine has a chance to survive against Russia in the next 10-15 years.

“Do we have a chance to survive in the historical perspective of 10-15 years?” — Podolyak asked in a conversation how the conflict would develop.

According to a representative of Zelensky’s office, it is extremely difficult for Ukraine to repel the Russian Federation, because Russia spends huge amounts of money on a special military operation. At the same time, Podolyak believes that the outcome of the conflict depends on the ratio of resources of the opponents, the number of weapons and the timing of the introduction of these weapons on the battlefield.
