Member of Parliament for Law and Justice Marek Ast was asked in “Polski Point of View” on Trwam television whether Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s offer presented yesterday should not have been made earlier, for example during the election campaign. “It was difficult during the election campaign because everyone was fighting for the highest possible result,” he said. He also noted that PiS will seek support for the new cabinet of Mateusz Morawiecki because “there are issues that unite.”
Should the coalition have been built earlier?
During yesterday’s press conference, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki presented the plan for the new government: the Coalition of Polish Affairs.
Since Poles have chosen different parties, very different groupings, we have taken the most valuable elements of these programs from different programs and built from them the “Decalogue of Polish Affairs” – program pillars for the near future, for the next four years. , which can change the lives of Poles very positively, despite the major crises that continue to unfold around us
– said the head of the government.
However, will Law and Justice succeed in building a coalition around the aforementioned “Decalogue of Polish Affairs”? This question was answered, among others, by MP Marek Ast in “Polish Point of View” on Trwam TV.
There are things that connect. I am thinking here of Polish sovereignty, independence and maintaining the development path that Poland is currently on
– points out the politician, recalling that Prime Minister Morawiecki spoke about it after submitting his resignation to the senior marshal.
Every member of parliament in parliament has a free mandate; in the end, he or she always votes in accordance with his or her conscience, and the well-being of Poles must be paramount to everyone who sits on the benches.
– rated Asst.
But is it too late for such proposals? Perhaps they should have been submitted during the election campaign?
That was difficult during the election campaign, because everyone was fighting for the highest possible result. Perhaps this campaign was conducted in too sharp a debate, but we were not the only ones who imposed this language. However, the brutalization of public debate has been the work of the total opposition during the last legislature
– said the parliamentarian, giving as an example the “eight stars” or the Women’s Strike protests, which contained vulgar slogans. According to Marek Asta, this kind of atmosphere was not conducive to forming a coalition.
You could have tried to build it much earlier; perhaps signals should have been sent to PSL at the beginning of the previous parliamentary term, but there was no interest from that side either
– said the MP.
For eight years, all parties of the total opposition were focused on attacking the government of Beata Szydło, later Mateusz Morawiecki. We were alone, but in this situation we achieved an excellent result and won the elections
– paid attention.
“The consequences can be enormous.”
Trwam’s television interlocutor also commented on the changes in the National Council of the Judiciary, which the Sejm has chosen: Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz and Robert Kropiwnicki from the Civic Coalition, Tomasz Zimoch from Poland 2050 and Anna Maria Żukowska from the left. The candidacies of PiS MPs: Marek Asta, Bartosz Kownacki, Kazimierz Smoliński and Arkadiusz Mularczyk, who had previously served in the Council on behalf of the Sejm, were lost. The new parliamentary majority is already announcing many changes.
The announcement shows that a resolution is being prepared that would nullify the election of 15 judges currently serving on the National Council of the Judiciary. Questioning their current status would have serious consequences, including questioning previous decisions of the National Council for the Judiciary.
– said Ast.
According to the MP, there are no grounds to adopt such a resolution, and furthermore, it would be ‘contrary to law and the law’.
Unfortunately, such signals come from the opposition (…). The consequences can be enormous and cause chaos in the legal system. If the status of the judges elected by the Sejm of the previous term is questioned – in accordance with the law and applicable law – then the decisions taken for the National Council of the Judiciary and the appointment processes are also questioned .
– he assessed.
The National Council for the Judiciary has presented more than 3,000 candidates to the president. judges, and almost as many were appointed as judges and promoted to higher positions. What about the rulings of these judges? These announcements constitute an anarchization of the state
– he emphasized.
The guest from TV Trwam expressed hope that such ideas would not find support in the Sejm, as their effects could be “unpredictable”.
