Szymon Hołownia, who takes his first steps into real big politics, confirms that he has a high opinion of himself. This was largely the case at today’s press conference he boldly assessed the head of state and even lectured about itpresent yourself as Andrzej Duda’s equal partner. You might get the impression that they ran the country together, or rather, he was the one running it, and he would happily support the president’s imperfect camp. Well, anyone starting such a big game has the right to be optimistic, but it would also be useful a bit of realism and also humility.
At the same time Hołownia reacted nervously to the question about Włodzimierz Karpiński. He used bureaucratic procedures that he supposedly had to complete (but apparently authorities with good, sincere intentions can do anything) and said:
Attempts to turn this into a political stunt now, attempts to involve me in stories about the Marshal’s first decision, namely releasing criminals from prison, are downright pathetic.
Funny words for a representative of the political camp that has been destroying Law and Justice in an ultra-populist manner for years.regardless of the circumstances, without admitting any apology – even during a pandemic and war.
There are two conflicting interpretations in the background. According to one of them, Hołownia stayed “published” by Tusk, who knows he’ll burn out quickly in such an important position, and his “direct” communication style will soon become a meme. And there might be something in that. But there is also a second version, according to which Tusk hopes so Hołownia Marshal will build up a lot of political capital, and will be able to challenge Rafał Trzaskowski for the presidency, with whom the PO leader is engaged in a quiet but fierce war. Today, both scenarios are possible and everything depends on Hołownia itself.
However, the beginning is of questionable quality. In the most important case of recent days – namely the deprivation of Law and Justice of the right to appoint a deputy chairman of the Sejm – he did not speak. He dodged, stating that the place was waiting for a candidate, but he did not stand for democratic principles, for the rights of minorities. And he could. And he will remember that. And one day it will catch up with him.
