The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in the first reading a bill banning schoolchildren from using phones and other devices for communication in the classroom. The document was published on: Web site Regulatory Support Systems (LSS).
It is stated that the bill was prepared by senators of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and deputies of various groups of the State Duma. If the innovation is adopted, schoolchildren will be able to use smartphones in lessons only with the permission of teachers, as well as in emergencies and life-threatening situations.
Before that, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin statedWith the changes made in the second reading of the draft law on phones in schools, phones will be banned in classes except in emergencies, that is, without any other reservations.
Deputy Olga Kazakova, one of the co-authors of the bill, explained that schools and parents themselves will decide how to implement the ban in practice: put phones in lockers, desks, briefcases or do not bring them to school at all.
